History

Seydel Maschinenfabrik GmbH was founded in 1878. In the beginning, spare parts for machinery were produced.
The machines came from Scotland and were used for the production of flax and linen yarn in Bielefeld and the surrounding area.
Very quickly companies throughout Europe became customers and later Seydel produced machinery for rolls of flax and linen.
Since the end of the 1950s Seydel has specialized in machinery production for synthetic fibers. These were and still are preparatory machines for spinning mills manufacturing synthetic or mixed yarns.
